AUCTIONEER AND PRESIDENT

FULSOM AUCTIONS

Fulsom Auctions Ltd is a family run business that strives to provide ethical and up to date auction services for our clients.  We aim to do our best for both sellers and buyers.

We have been in the auction business forty years and have had the privilege of serving the Haldimand-Norfolk area.  Robert Fulsom founded Fulsom Auctions Ltd in 1975 after graduating from the Reisch Auction College in Mason City, Iowa.  He had a  deep desire to conduct auctions and had the determination to make it work.  He was fortunate enough to work for a local auctioneer and knew a lot of people through his livestock trucking company.

His first auction was held in the Spring of 1975, a farm auction in South Cayuga township for the Graff family.  In the early years he had his brother Davin, local banker Doug Kennedy and friend Harold Smelser work for him.  Over the years his wife Barb came on board and they have worked as a team ever since.  John Wickett began selling with Robert in the early 1980s as well as long time clerk Linda McMurchy.  Brother and sister in law Jim and Nancy Lamb have been with the company for over 20 years.  Robert's oldest son Jeff has worked with the company for many years and graduated from the Southwestern Ontario School of Auctioneering in 2008.  Granddaughter Emma and Grandson Owen have also recently started helping out at the sales making Fulsom Auctions a three generation company.

There have been many highlights over the years including the Staples farm auction, the Roots Lumber liquidation auction in Welland, the Tallman Transport auction and the Norma Kline auction where Robert sold a pine flat to the wall cupboard for $37,000. Robert often remarks that the thrill for him is to see what happens at each auction as everyone is different.
